Seneca LAKE WINE TRAIL
Seneca Lake’s natural combination of deep water, at 632 feet it is the deepest of the Finger Lakes, and sloping hillsides provides the ideal microclimate for grape growing. Its unique geology and topography protect the growth of hardy native grapes and premium hybrids as well as more delicate varieties such as Riesling,Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir.
The Seneca Lake Wine Trail was formed in the heart of New York State’s Finger Lakes region to attract more visitors to experience its rich history, beauty, and production of world-class wines. Today, Seneca Lake Wine Trail is the largest and most active wine trail in New York State with a community of over 30 wineries, a distillery, several breweries and hard cider producers and a meadery.
EXPLORE THE AREA
The east side of Seneca Lake is a treasure trove of places to explore beyond our glampground, including New York’s largest wine trail, breweries, farms, restaurants, sailing, swimming, kayaking, music, and historic sites. Hike the Finger Lakes National Forest or the famous Watkins Glen State Park where you will meander through, around and behind 16 different waterfalls. If horseback riding through the forest suits your fancy we will be happy to schedule rides for you with advance notice.
What a tribute to nature! Seneca Sol went above and beyond our expectations. The tent was clean spacious. We loved how our hosts built the tents into nature without clearing a larger space than necessary. Wineries are really close and their restaurant recommendations were perfect! Thank you for a wonderful time!
Our stay at Seneca Sol was incredible! It's an experience unique to the area and is a great blend of camping and a hotel stay - with the outdoor air and beautiful setting of a tent combined with the comfort of a bed and other amenities - including hot water and showers! The hosts are warm and welcoming, ensuring that every need is met, including a simple yet wonderful breakfast spread. The location is very convenient to wineries and other local attractions, yet still quiet and peaceful. In the evenings, you can hang out in your tent or join your fellow campers around the camp fire. Don't think about it - just book it. And book early because they are already very popular! We'll definitely return!
Glamping at Seneca Sol was super fun! The location is removed enough from the main road to be very quiet. The best part was probably the sound of the rain on the tent in the morning. The tents are well furnished and new and the bathrooms are clean and not too far away. Overall, it is close enough to camping that there are bugs and whatnot, which is obviously to be expected, but exactly what we were looking for in a glamping experience. Would recommend to anyone looking to get out of the city for a while.
